At the feet of the Ausoni mountains, facing the
panorama of the Pontine Marshes, where the view
sweeps from the Circeo promontory out to the
Pontine Islands, at an elevation of about 200 mt
stands the olive grove of Villa Pontina.
The sloping terrain, so rocky and hostile as to
inspire talk of “heroic” olive growing, together with
a southern exposure bathed in sunshine from dawn
till dusk, with the Mediterranean climate and a
breeze from the Tyrrhenian Sea: these are the
characteristics of our land and the soil and climate
conditions that are so favourable to the
extraordinary Itrana cultivar.
Here, in its ideal environment, born our
pluri-awarded extra virgin olive oil Villa Pontina, an
Itrana’s Monocultivar, Protected Denomination of
Origin PDO “Colline Pontine”, certificated Organic
and Biodynamic by Demeter.
Ingredient with proven nutraceutical properties,
able to exalt the raw material of every preparation.
Evoo of medium fruitiness. It's aroma is ample and
rotund, rich in fruity hints of fresh vegetables as
green tomato and aromatic herbs.
It's taste is
elegante and vegetale. With a defined touch of
bitterness/pungency pleasent and well balanced.
